Losing My CND Shellac Virginity

Okay...I admit it...I'd never used CND Shellac before I went on my course...guilty!

So I thought I should probably try it out. But not wanting to waste my colours, I just went for a base and top coat. I then used CND Vinylux Weekly Polish (CND's answer to regular nail polish) in Black Pool over the top.

Voila!

Unfortunately I forgot that ScrubFresh contains acetone, so when I was doing a client's CND Shellac, some of the corners of my Vinylux came off. So I used an acetone free remover and this is how my nails currently look.

I'm loving how strong my nails feel, and how shiny they are despite having black nail varnish applied and removed. I will 100% do a colour CND shellac on myself next!

I will also be looking at getting some gloves to prevent any damage to my nails next time I do a client's nails. Has anyone got any recommendations?

Love Abs x

Born Pretty Store Image Plates

As I mentioned on the blog a few weeks ago, I bought some image stamping plates from Born Pretty Store. These arrived last week!

I was so excited to try them, but I haven't had time to do my nails properly yet, so I tested them on paper first.

These are my favourites across the five plates...

I'll be doing my nails tonight so will post pictures soon!

Spring 2015 Trends

Pastels and florals are the recurring trend for spring. And it seems 2015 will be no different! Baby pink, baby blue, mint green, lilac, and nude are set to be the go to colours this spring.

CND released their Spring colour prediction (pictured below), along with some nail art inspiration. I cant wait to give them a try!

What are your favourite colours for spring? Do you stick with the trend or do you prefer different colours?

Born Pretty Goodies

This morning I decided to have a look on the Born Pretty website, and I think I'm developing an obsession with stamping!

I've ordered 5 stamping plates (BP-01, BP-16, BP-19, BP-41, and QA-25) and I couldn't help ordering a midi ring too.

I will be doing a review post when they arrive!

Welcome to Malibu Nails...

My next brainchild.

Anyone who's met me knows how much I love all things nails, and many have helped me practise painting nails and nail art by being my beautiful models.

I've decided to turn my passion into something more, I have enrolled onto a CND Shellac Course in London, so that I will be able to offer gels in the near future.

I will use this blog to post my latest creations, inspirations and experiences.

Keep checking back for news, I will publish services and prices soon!
